  2. What is the FBI's PPAU?
    • The PPAU is the FBI HQ Unit that manages the InfraGard Program. 
    • PPAU is the Public/Private Alliance Unit
  3. Is the InfraGard Program Open to everyone?
    • No, since the FBI conducts background checks on each member it is limited to U.S. Citizens at this time
  4. What does it cost to become a member of InfraGard?
    • Membership to the FBI's InfraGard National Program is FREE
  5. Is the InfraGard Program a International, National or local program?
    • The FBI's InfraGard Program is a National Program, limited to US Citizens at this time
    • Local Alliances are free to establish working relationships with similar law enforcement groups in foreign countries
  6. What do InfraGard Members do?
    • Attend both open and secure meetings and events
    • Regularly interact with the FBI and other industry leaders at meetings and events
    • Report to the FBI and law enforcement matters of mutual concern
    • Socialize with like minded security and risk management professionals
    • Work and exchange information with National, State and local Law Enforcement officials
    • Join a local InfraGard Members Alliance and be engaged with there growth and committee work
    • Bring best practices to light and offer presentations to the membership
    • Learn about and apply for the FBI's Citizen's Academy
  7. What is the relationship between the FBI and the InfraGard National Members Alliance (national board) INMA
    • The FBI is a Federal Law Enforcement Agency that manages the InfraGard Program from there public/private alliance unit
    • The INMA (InfraGard National Members Alliance) is the private sector national board
    • The INMA works to establish deeper relationships for the local InfraGard Members Alliances and helps local alliances develop boards, legal structure and organizes the national business meeting annually (annual business meeting is referred to as "Congress")
    • The INMA signed a MOU (memorandum of understanding) with the FBI which outlines the public/private relationship.  Each local alliance needs to sign off on this MOU in order to be recognized as an OFFICAL InfraGard Members Alliance (IMA)
  8. How many local IMA's (InfraGard Member Alliances) are there?
    • There are 87 alliances with a number of others either coming on board or folding into a larger alliance so that they can be more effective
    • Each of these alliances are affiliated with one of the 56 field offices of the FBI, they all work with an InfraGard Coordinator, a Speical Agent of the FBI local field Office
  9. Is a local alliance or the national alliance a for profit, not for profit or mixed use corporation?
    • InfraGard Alliances whether the National Alliance(1) or local alliances (87) are all 501 C3 as determined by the IRS and have filled with there respective states and are known as Not For Profit Corporations
    • There is no mixed corporate use of InfraGard, nor any subdivision which lobbys or is politically active
    • Private sector members of InfraGard are either privately employed, publically employed or have there own businesses
    • InfraGard Alliances are Not For Profit businesses that seek donations, grants, sell items, training, and many other creative things to generate various revenues during the calendar year to help promote the InfraGard Program
  10. Does it cost money to be a member of an InfraGard Members Alliance?
    • Some alliances may charge a Alliance annual fee or premium member fee
    • Some alliances charge a cover fee for events
    • Some alliances have speical outtings and charge for those events
  11. Do companies become members of InfraGard?
    • No, members of the FBI InfraGard Program are limited to individuals and its FREE
    • Companies can be corporate sponsors
    • Companies can be corporate associates (just like membership) supporting the program there employees attend
    • Companies can provide facilities for holding events
    • Companies can provide food for breakfast and lunch
    • Companies can donate equipment and professional services
    • Companies can request speakers from InfraGard
    • Companies can request presentations from InfraGard
    • Companies can request InfraGard liason with the FBI for speakers
  12. Who does InfraGard alliegn with?
    • InfraGard works with:
      • Government Agencies
      • Private Sector companies
      • Industry trade groups
      • Exhibition companies
      • Law Enforcement groups
      • Professional associations
      • Universities, High schools, grammar schools in providing education and awareness and security of R/D (intellectual Property)
